Pistils 2025/2026, Extract from an Open Call application:
I have recently been investigating the female reproductive organs as a method to understand the societal views and pressures of being a woman. Highlighted in my battle to get answers from professionals for Chronic Health Conditions. The forms became flowerlike as I identified with flowers of solace that withered and bounced back with care. Identifying the Intrinsic connection between flowers and women, each beholden to cycles of life and biology. Picked for their perfection and grown for their beauty. Finding unknown strength in the wild spaces, beyond borders. My objects are a monument to women, stilling the forever moving biology into a moment, to be viewed and appreciated. Like seeing the first bloom of Spring.

Exchange 2025 is a snapshot into the currency of the Cervix.
A cervix is the entrance to the uterus, symbolises where one used to be or is created even if one never was. There is an exchange through sex, the physical act but also there can be an exchange of money, power, status or love. A cervix has no sexuality but sees the physical reaction of hormones, a gateway for the flow of our body’s reactions.
